AGM, Friday January 14th

This took place at the Spread Eagle (upstairs room), at 7pm.

Business was fairly brisk. We voted to keep the subs at their current level and ask our membership to pay subs this year. Last year paying subs was optional.

Afterwards we were entertained by Chris and John with some simple French songs that we could sing along to.

Un Soiree de Fromage - Sat 19th March 7:30

This took place at Lymm Village Hall on Saturday, 19th March.

Sextons provided five cheeses and a similar numbers of breads. All the cheeses were either French or made in a French style. Sexton's gave an interesting talk about each cheese. A very good evening and fun for everyone.

Boules Afternoon - Sunday 8th May

18 people gathered at the Cleggs Farm for a game of boules. A very friendly, good-natured competition. We had a winner and a presentation of a prize but after that the sun came out and we could sit back and enjoy some delicious home made cakes with a drink in the sun.

A really good afternoon to catch up with people and talk about the coming trip to France.

Trip to France 1st - 5th June 2022

We really enjoyed ourselves. There was hardly a minute to spare between all the events that our French hosts had organised. In those few minutes we could also visit the Music Festival that was on in Meung at the same time. Picture shows our Chairman, Chris, contributing to the festivities at the "Official Lunch" on the Saturday.

Thursday, June 2nd

Summer Barbecue - Sunday 17th July

The perfect weather for a barbecue. Warm and sunny but not as hot as the next two days turned out to be.

About 50 people came along and enjoyed the food and the chat in the sunshine. A few people came along to find out about the Twin Town Society and what it does. We were very pleased to see them.

High Legh Teas - Sunday 28th August

Many thanks to organiser Lesley McIntyre and to all those who baked and/or helped.

Our customers praised us for the excellent quality of our cakes, pastries and sandwiches. Really nice to hear given the hard work we had all put in to make this a successful event.

The profit was in the region of £500, an important contribution to our funds for the 2023 visit from Meung

Film Night - Sunday 2nd October

Our French film night was on Sunday 2nd October at the Youth and Community Centre.

A very enjoyable event. Peter and Lesley gave everyone a glass of wine before we sat down and watched film. Au Revoir Là-Haut is a black comedy inspired by actual scandalous events from the final days of WW1 and the year or two thereafter.

After the film we were served tea, coffee and cake and could catch up with the latest news from everyone.

Beaujolais Evening - Friday November 18th

Many thanks to Kit Knowles for allowing us to use Lymm Hall for our Beaujolais Evening. It was a lovely environment to meet up with old friends and catch up on News. Chris led the evening and offered us a selection of Beaujolais wines (some Nouveau some not).

Afterwards he gave us one of his fiendish quizzes where we had to remember what he had told us. A superb evening, and one where we had to totter home afterwards!
