Theatre Trip - 11th January 2018

The Guys and Dolls was relocated to Broadway for  a splendid interpretation of the story with an all black cast. The main songs "Luck be a lady tonight" and "Sit down you're rocking the boat" did not disappoint. A most enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to Peter for organising it.

Spring Supper - Saturday 21st April

The Twin Town Spring Supper was in the downstairs room of the Lymm Youth Club this year.

The 7 piece Brass ensemble of students from Lymm High were absolutely excellent. A fine selection of tunes from film and pop classics.

The Lymm Chippy came up trumps with their Fish and Chips and many thanks to Maggie for the fruit salad.

A hugely enjoyable evening.

Lymm May Queen

Many thanks to Peter, Mark, Christiane, Pat, Neil and Malcolm for setting up and manning the stall at the Lymm May Queen.

Nothing has come of the initiative so far but we were a visible presence at the event (right next to an ice cream seller).

Lymm Food Fest

Many, many thanks to those that turned out to setup and man the Lymm Twin Town stall at the Food Festival.

We were there, we were noticed. The attached photo shows the Mayor and Faisal Rashid (MP, Warrington South) at our stall.

It's too early to say what the results of all our advertising will be but at least two couples have expressed interest. One couple has asked about the barbecue

Summer Barbecue - Sunday 7th July

It was a glorious day, just like the preceding fortnight but with a little bit of cloud cover. Ideal weather really.

Many thanks to the people who helped with organising this years barbecue. Whether you helped with setup, cooked, served or provided a salad.

About 50 people came, some of whom were new to the Society. We hope that those who came for the first time enjoyed themselves and will be back again.

Boules Afternoon Sunday 12th August, 15:00

About 20 people turned up for a very relaxed game of Boules. The Clegg's farm proved the ideal location where we could all join in and rotate to play different people.

After such a hot summer it was strange to be worrying about the weather. But the rain held off until after we had all had our refreshments and applauded the winners (well done Joe).

Further pictures taken at the event can be found here.

High Legh Teas - Sunday 26th August

Thanks to all those that baked and the 20+ volunteers who gave up their time on a wet Sunday afternoon to run the annual High Legh Teas. The sandwiches, cakes, pies....... were scummy

A special thanks to Pat, Maggie and Deborah who ran the event and those people who were there all afternoon. For example Dave Gaster who ran the book stall and Pam Marks who ran the Tombola.

We raised in excess of £700 despite the rain.

The pictures taken by Paul can be seen here or on our Facebook page.

Beaujolais Nouveau - Saturday 17th November

A big THANK YOU to Kirsty for a very well run and enjoyable (if slightly chilly!) Beaujolais Nouveau Evening at the High School. The food, the snail bar, the Beaujolais, the wine talk, the raffle and the quiz all came together smoothly during the evening. There were over 70 people present. About half were Twin Town Members, many were parents at the High school, and we had 8 guests who had come along because they had either been invited or seen Kirsty's publicity. The evening generated money for both the Twin Town and the PTA and may even have found us some new members.

AGM -  19:00  Friday 7th December

Our 50th Annual General Meeting took place on Friday December 7th , upstairs at the Spread Eagle in the Village centre. starting at 7 p.m.  This was very competently chaired by Councillor Anna Fradgley as chair of the Lymm Parish Council.

This was Peter's last function as Chairman of the Twin Town Soceity. He will be much missed. The post of Chairman is still vacant.
